Captains & Field Supervisors

Spend your shift with your crews — not buried in chart review.

CARA reviews every run against your protocols and puts the ones that need your attention at the top of your queue, with the rule and the protocol section behind every flag. Feedback gets faster, fairer, and easier to explain.

Sound familiar?

QA shouldn’t eat the shift.

  • One to two hours a shift reading charts — often on top of billing and everything else.
  • Crews who hear about a problem weeks after the call.
  • Feedback that depends on who reviewed the chart.
  • No time left for the coaching that actually changes care.

A week with CARA

What changes for a Supervisor.

  1. 01

    Start of shift

Open the queue. Tiles show runs received, runs waiting, and what cleared on its own — so “nothing to review” never gets confused with “nothing arriving.”

  2. 02

    A critical flag

A cardiac arrest run is flagged: epinephrine time not documented. You see the record and the protocol section, then pass it, fail it with a note, or escalate it to your Medical Director.

  3. 03

    Back to the crew

Share the run with the crew through a secure link while the call is still fresh, and see when they’ve opened it.

  4. 04

    End of the week

Ask “which runs last month were missing a pain reassessment?” and get the list, a chart, and a CSV for your next training.

Your queue, your rules

Decide what needs a human.

Set an auto-pass score so clean runs clear on their own, then add review rules in plain language. CARA shows each rule back to you before it goes live — and rules can only add runs to your queue, never skip the human step.

  • “Flag any run scoring below 80.”
  • “Flag stroke calls with scene time over 20 minutes.”
  • “Flag any run with two or more critical failures.”

How CARA helps

Built around how Supervisors actually work.

Time back.

CARA reads every chart so you don’t have to. The runs that need a look come first, sorted by clinical severity — and with an auto-pass score, clean runs clear on their own.

Fair to your crews.

Every crew is held to the same standard — the protocol in force that day, applied to what was actually documented. Feedback starts from the protocol, not from who happened to review the chart.

Easy to explain.

Each flag points to the rule and the section of your protocol that requires it. The conversation is about the protocol, not about the person.

Share a run with the crew.

Send a crew member the run and the finding securely, so feedback happens while the call is still fresh.

Answers without a data team.

Ask questions about your shift or your station in plain English and get the answer plus the runs behind it.

Coaching with evidence.

Feedback rests on the chart and the protocol, not impressions. How your agency uses review results is your policy.

Straight answers

What Captains ask us.

Will crews be ranked or graded by AI?

CARA doesn’t make decisions about people. It checks runs against your protocol, and a reviewer makes every decision. CARA can also show a per-provider summary of documentation and protocol compliance — a pointer to where follow-up is needed, not a clinical grade — and only your agency’s admins and editors can see it. How your agency uses review results is your policy.

Does CARA replace our CQI process?

No. CARA reads what’s documented and flags what your protocol requires. It can’t see care that wasn’t charted, and it doesn’t replace case reviews, ride-alongs, or debriefs — it gives them a better starting point.

Will this add work for my crews?

No. Crews keep charting the way they do today. CARA reads the PCRs your ePCR already submits.

Who sees a flagged run?

People at your agency with access to QA review. Sharing a run with a crew member is a deliberate step, through a time-limited, sign-in-only link — and every share is logged.
