Medical Directors
One clinical standard, applied to every chart.
CARA evaluates every patient care report against your protocols — the version in force on the date of the call — and shows its work. You get oversight of the whole agency, not a sample of it.
Clinical fidelity
Your protocols, not a generic checklist.
Imported and structured.
Your protocols — your state’s, or the national model guidelines, plus your agency’s own additions — are built into structured, versioned rules. Not a PDF the AI skims, and not a checklist someone has to maintain by hand.
Versioned by encounter date.
When you update a protocol, past runs are still judged by the rules that applied when they happened.
Cited to the source.
Every finding references the rule and the section of your protocol it comes from — with the page wherever the source document has one — so you can verify any flag quickly.
Evidence, not inference.
CARA evaluates what the chart documents. It doesn’t assume care that wasn’t recorded or read between the lines — which is exactly what makes documentation gaps visible.
Scoring you can defend
A compliance score that means what it says.
Weighted by severity.
Critical steps count for considerably more than advisory ones, and critical failures are always reported on their own — never hidden inside an average.
Only the rules that applied.
Rules that don’t apply to the encounter — a pediatric dosing check on an adult call — are kept out of the score entirely.
No run left out.
Runs no protocol covers by name are checked against routine patient care. Canceled and no-patient-contact runs get baseline documentation checks, labelled as such.
Quality measures
The measures you report on, calculated for you.
NEMSQA measures are computed against each measure’s published package — named next to every result — and AHA Mission: Lifeline measures against the 2026 specifications. Each set has its own tab and is never blended with the compliance score or with each other.
A documentation signal, not just a rate.
Next to each published rate, CARA shows the same measure over only the runs where an answer could be determined. The gap tells you how much of a shortfall is missing documentation rather than missed care.

CARA computes the 15 of 20 AHA Mission: Lifeline measures that EMS data can support. The other five need hospital treatment times, which EMS records don’t hold.
A defensible record
Every decision on the record.
Every flag, review, and closure is timestamped, attributed, and kept in a tamper-evident audit log. CARA suggests; your reviewers decide — and the record shows who decided what, and when.
Escalations come to you.
Reviewers escalate the runs that need a physician’s eye, and you sign off with the full finding, the record, and the protocol citation attached.
Schedule a demo
Bring one protocol. We’ll show you every flag, cited to its section.
We'll show you how CARA reviews every PCR, what your QA queue would look like, and how it fits alongside your ePCR. Tell us a little about your agency and we'll set up a time.
