Product

Clinical QA for every run, built around your protocols.

CARA connects to the ePCR you already use, checks every patient care report against your protocols, and gives your reviewers a prioritized queue — with the record and the protocol citation behind every flag.

Anatomy of a finding

Every flag shows its work.

This is what a reviewer sees on a flagged run. Each line points back to the chart or to your protocol, so a finding can be checked in seconds — and challenged if it’s wrong.

Rule
The protocol requirement, by name. CARA builds its rules from your protocols — your state’s or the national model guidelines, plus your agency’s additions.
Record shows
What the chart actually documents. CARA reports what’s there — it doesn’t infer what probably happened.
Required by
Protocol, version, and section — with the page wherever the source document has one. Always the version in force on the date of the call.
Severity
Critical failures are called out on their own. Advisory findings weigh less and still count toward trends.

Capabilities

Everything your QA program needs, in one place.

Protocol review on every run

Each rule comes back passed, failed, or did not apply — a pediatric dosing check never counts against an adult call. Runs no protocol covers by name are still checked against routine patient care.

A queue built around your rules

Set an auto-pass score and clean runs clear on their own. Add review rules in plain language — “flag stroke calls with scene time over 20 minutes” — and CARA shows each rule back to you before it goes live.

A score that means what it says

The weighted share of protocol steps that applied, with critical failures always reported separately. “22 of 27” means 27 rules were in play — not 27 that might have been.

Plain-English analytics

Ask “how many cardiac arrests did we have last month?” Every answer states the dates it searched, drills down to the records with patient details masked, and exports to CSV.

Quality measures

NEMSQA measures, each labelled with its published measure package, and AHA Mission: Lifeline 2026 measures. Each set has its own tab and is never blended into one number.

Medication safety checks

Flags a crew-given medication that shares an ingredient with an allergy documented in the record. Advisory only, decided from coded data — no AI involved.

Secure sharing with crews

Share a run through a time-limited, sign-in-only link you can revoke, and see when it’s been opened. Every share is logged.

Medical Director sign-off

Reviewers escalate runs that need a physician’s eye. Your Medical Director signs off with the full finding and evidence attached.

English and Spanish

The whole interface works in English or Spanish, so every member of your team can use it.

Getting started

Live on your data, without changing how crews chart.

  1. 01

    We set up your agency.

We build your protocols into CARA — your state’s or the national model guidelines, plus your agency’s additions — and invite your first administrator. Staff with your agency’s email domain land in the right place when they sign in.

  2. 02

    Your ePCR vendor connects.

We send your vendor NEMSIS submission credentials through a one-time secure link — never by email. Any ePCR that submits NEMSIS 3.4–3.5.1 data connects the same way.

  3. 03

    CARA reviews every run.

Every PCR your vendor submits is checked against the protocol in force on the date of the call and placed in your queue by severity. At go-live we also load your existing NEMSIS runs, scored against the same protocols, so your dashboards and QA history start populated.

  4. 04

    You tune the queue.

Set your auto-pass score and review rules. Your reviewers take it from there, and the rules are yours to change.

Integration

Works with the ePCR you already have.

CARA ingests NEMSIS 3.4, 3.5, and 3.5.1 data from your ePCR — new runs as they’re submitted, plus your historical archive. No new software for your crews, and no change to how they chart.
